Glenfarclas Distillery is located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, approximately five miles south of Aberlour. Founded in 1836, it has remained under the ownership of the Grant family for generations, currently managed by J. & G. Grant. This long history of family ownership has allowed Glenfarclas to maintain traditional production methods while adapting to modern whisky trends. The distillery boasts an impressive production capacity with 12 fermenters, each holding 50,000 liters, and a 17-ton mash tun. Glenfarclas is renowned for its full-bodied single malts that are predominantly matured in sherry casks, imparting rich flavors of dried fruits, spices, and oak. The whisky presents a complex profile on the nose with notes of sherry, fruit, and sweetness, evolving into a palate filled with sherry, spices, and a hint of herbs. The finish is characterized by a balance of oak and sweetness, making it a favorite among sherry cask enthusiasts.
