Glen Garioch

Glen Garioch, located in the Highland region of Scotland, was founded in 1797, making it one of the oldest distilleries in the country. The distillery is currently owned by Suntory, a Japanese beverage company known for its whisky expertise. Glen Garioch has maintained a commitment to traditional production methods while adapting to modern techniques, which has allowed it to thrive for over two centuries. With an annual production capacity of 1,000,000 liters, Glen Garioch employs a 5-ton mashtun for its mashing process. The distillery's whisky is characterized by a rich flavor profile that includes notes of sugary sweetness, fresh fruit, oak, malt, dried spices, almond, caramel, and citrus. This complex combination contributes to the depth of their single malt whiskies, which range from 5 to 40 years in age. Notable expressions include the Founder's Reserve, Virgin Oak, and the 18-year-old Renaissance, each showcasing the distillery's unique character and craftsmanship.
