Located in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, the Four Roses Distillery was founded in 1888 and has a rich history that reflects the evolution of Bourbon making in the United States. Currently owned by Kirin Brewery Company, the distillery is well-regarded for its distinctive Spanish mission-style architecture, which stands out in the heart of Bourbon country. Four Roses is also recognized in the National Register of Historic Places, marking its importance in both local and national heritage. Four Roses produces a variety of bourbons and ryes, utilizing two unique mashbills and five proprietary yeast strains to create a diverse flavor profile. With an annual production capacity of approximately 100,000 cases, the distillery employs traditional methods alongside modern equipment. The resulting whiskies are characterized by a sweet and spicy profile, featuring notes of oak, vanilla, and caramel on both the nose and palate. Notable expressions include the Four Roses Bourbon Whiskey and the highly regarded Single Barrel 100 Proof, appealing to both novice and experienced whisky enthusiasts. Visitors can explore the distillery at 1224 Bonds Mill Road, with tours available to showcase its historical significance and production techniques.
