Dallas Dhu is located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, and was founded in 1899. The distillery was established by William and Thomas McDonald and has a rich history, reflecting the traditional whisky-making heritage of the region. In 1983, the distillery ceased production and was subsequently acquired by Historic Scotland, which now oversees its preservation as a historical site. Dallas Dhu had a production capacity that allowed it to produce high-quality single malt whisky, utilizing traditional pot stills and other classic equipment. The character of Dallas Dhu whisky is distinguished by its fruity profile, with notes of pear, peach, and sweet herbs on the nose. The palate reveals flavors of banana, vanilla, and chocolate, leading to a finish that combines fruit and spices. Notable expressions include the Dallas Dhu 25 Years - 1982 and the Dallas Dhu 31 Years - 1969 Old Malt Cask, which showcase the distillery's excellent aging potential.
