Chichibu Distillery is located in the scenic Saitama Prefecture of Japan and was founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto. The distillery is owned by Venture Whisky and has quickly established a reputation for high-quality whisky despite its relatively young age. Its inception was rooted in the history of the Hanyu Distillery, a family business that closed down due to financial difficulties, leaving Ichiro with a small stock of casks that he has since transformed into a celebrated brand. With an annual production capacity of 60,000 liters, Chichibu utilizes both traditional and modern equipment to craft its whiskies.
