Cashside
Highland, Scotland Β· Opgericht in 1826 - 1826
Cashside Distillery was located in the Highland region of Scotland, founded in 1826 by James Connan. Despite its historical significance, the distillery had a brief operation, closing the same year it was established. The closure left a mark on the whisky landscape as it was one of the many distilleries that contributed to the early development of Scottish whisky production. During its short life, Cashside's production capacity and methods remain largely undocumented due to its early closure. However, it is believed that the distillery employed traditional methods of whisky production typical of the period, which likely included pot still distillation and natural fermentation processes. The character of Cashside whisky, though not widely recorded, would presumably have reflected the classic Highland profile, characterized by robust flavors and a rich mouthfeel, often featuring notes of heather, honey, and a gentle smokiness. Unfortunately, as Cashside ceased operations almost immediately after its founding, no notable expressions or visitor experiences remain to tell its story further.
