Bunnahabhain

Bunnahabhain Distillery is located on the Isle of Islay in Scotland, founded in 1881. It is currently owned by Burn Stewart Distillers and remains an operational distillery. The picturesque setting near Port Askaig has been a crucial part of its identity, emphasizing traditional whisky-making methods while adapting to modern practices over the years. With a production capacity of approximately 3.5 million liters of alcohol annually, Bunnahabhain utilizes four pot stills for distillation. The distillery draws its water from the Margadale River, which is pumped from underground sources. The character of Bunnahabhain whiskies is distinguished by a lack of peat influence; instead, they showcase a rich Sherry profile, featuring notes of sweet fruit, spices, and oak. The finish is complex, combining sweetness with hints of Sherry and peat smoke, making them highly regarded among whisky enthusiasts. Notable expressions include Bunnahabhain - Toiteach A Dhà and Bunnahabhain - Stiùireadair, with age ranges from 3 to 48 years, appealing to a variety of palates.
