Speyside, Scotland · Opgericht in 1973 - 2002
Located in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, Braeval Distillery was founded in 1973 and has been producing whisky for over four decades. The distillery is currently owned by Pernod Ricard and was temporarily closed in 2002, but has since resumed operations. Its location offers a serene backdrop, contributing to the character of the whisky produced here. Braeval has an impressive annual production capacity of 4 million liters, utilizing a combination of 15 fermenters, each with a capacity of 44,000 liters, and an 8-ton mash tun. The distillery employs six pot stills, including two wash stills and four spirit stills, designed to enhance the light and fruity profile of its whiskies. The tasting notes typically feature a delightful blend of fruit, sweetness, and spices, complemented by hints of caramel and a sweet, malty finish with oak and barley undertones. Visitors to Braeval can explore a range of expressions, including notable offerings like the Braeval 2000 Signatory Cask Strength and Braeval 9 Years - 2014 1st Fill PX Sherry, appealing to both novice and seasoned whisky enthusiasts.
