Bladnoch

Bladnoch distillery is nestled in the scenic Lowlands of Scotland, near the village of Bladnoch, and has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1817 by brothers John and Thomas McClelland. Originally established as a small distillery, it has changed ownership several times over the years but remains operational today, continuing to produce quality single malt whiskies. Its longevity and resilience highlight its significance in the whisky landscape. With an annual production capacity of 250,000 liters, Bladnoch distillery utilizes traditional methods combined with modern equipment. The distillery boasts six fermenters that play a crucial role in the fermentation process. Bladnoch whiskies are known for their distinct character, showcasing a vibrant profile dominated by sweet fruit, spices, and the influence of sherry casks, which impart rich oak and sherry notes. The whiskies, typically aged from 6 to 30 years, offer a complex tasting experience that appeals to whisky aficionados. Notable expressions include the Bladnoch 10-Year-Old and the Bladnoch Samsara, both celebrated for their harmonious flavors and smooth finishes. Visitors can reach the distillery for tours and tastings at +44 (0)1988 402605.
