Benromach

Benromach distillery is located in Forres, Moray, Scotland, and was founded in 1898. It has a rich history, having remained operational until its closure in 1983, before being revived in 1998 by the Gordon & MacPhail family, who are known for their expertise in whisky maturation. The distillery is notable for its commitment to traditional production methods, which are integral to its whisky character. With an annual production capacity of 150,000 liters, Benromach employs two pot stills: one with a capacity of 7,500 liters and another of 5,000 liters. This allows for a range of expressions that showcase its distinct flavor profile, which includes sweet notes of fruit and vanilla, complemented by peat smoke and sherry influences. The whisky is characterized by a balance of sweetness, spices, and oak, creating a complex finish that is both rich and inviting. Visitors can explore the distillery and discover notable expressions such as Benromach - Contrasts: Peat Smoke and Benromach - Chateau Cissac, 2010.
