Torabhaig Distillery is an award-winning single malt whisky distillery located on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. It began distilling in January 2017, making it the first new distillery on the island in 190 years — a remarkable milestone for Skye's whisky heritage. The distillery was built by transforming a 19th-century farmstead, taking four years to complete before production commenced. Torabhaig is part of the Mossburn whisky portfolio, operated by Mossburn Distillers & Blenders, and stands as one of only two single malt producers on the Isle of Skye, alongside the better-known Talisker. Torabhaig specialises in peated single malt Scotch whisky, bringing a distinctly smoky character to the island's whisky identity. The distillery has built its reputation through the Legacy Series, a collection of expressions that chart the evolution of Torabhaig's house style. The fourth chapter of this series, Sound of Sleat, was released in 2025, named after the strait of water that borders the southern tip of Skye. Mossburn's broader portfolio also includes independent bottlings and the Caisteal Chamuis blended malt range.
