Strathearn Distillery is a Highland single malt producer located near Methven in Perthshire, Scotland. Founded in 2013, it was one of the earliest pioneers of the craft distilling movement in Scotland, at a time when small, independent distilleries were beginning to reshape the country's whisky landscape. The distillery's multi-functional site encompasses distillation, warehousing, and bottling all under one roof. In 2019, the renowned Glasgow-based independent bottler and blender Douglas Laing & Co. acquired Strathearn Distillery, marking a significant milestone for the family firm as it expanded into distilling for the first time. Douglas Laing had first visited Strathearn back in 2013 and, after years of familiarity with the site, made it the foundation of their distilling ambitions. Under Douglas Laing's stewardship, Strathearn Single Malt has been developed as a key expression within the company's growing portfolio. Strathearn represents a compelling chapter in the story of modern Scottish craft whisky — a distillery that helped define a movement and was subsequently embraced by one of Scotland's most respected independent whisky houses. Its Perthshire roots and craft origins continue to define the character and identity of the whisky's produced there.
