Slane Irish Whiskey is born from one of Ireland's most storied estates — Slane Castle in County Meath, home to the Conyngham family since 1703. The castle is as famous for its legendary rock concerts as it is for its noble heritage, having hosted some of the world's biggest music acts on its grounds. In 2015, the Conynghams partnered with American spirits giant Brown-Forman — the company behind Jack Daniel's and Woodford Reserve — who invested €50 million in the brand and the construction of a new distillery on the castle grounds. Slane Irish Whiskey was officially launched in 2017, making Slane Distillery the first new distillery Brown-Forman has built outside of the United States. At the heart of Slane's whiskey-making philosophy is its signature Triple Casked approach, blending whiskeys matured in three different types of barrels to create a rich, layered flavour profile. Beyond its flagship expression, the portfolio has grown to include an extra sherry wood release and a batch strength whiskey, alongside a number of limited-edition bottlings. The result is a range that is both approachable and characterful, reflecting the rugged beauty and cultural vibrancy of the Boyne Valley in which the distillery sits. Since its launch, Slane has earned a reputation as one of the more exciting new arrivals in Irish whiskey, combining centuries of castle history with the expertise and resources of Brown-Forman's 147-year legacy in whiskey production. The brand's rock-and-roll spirit — echoing the concerts that helped save the castle — runs through everything it does.
