Silver Seal is an Italian independent bottler based in Formigine, in the Modena region of Italy. The company has its roots in the earlier 'Sestante' label, which operated until 2000. In 2010, the brand was acquired by Massimo (Max) Righi, owner of Whisky Antique, a renowned whisky shop and bottler also located in Modena. Under Righi's stewardship, Silver Seal has become one of Italy's most respected names in the world of independent bottling. Silver Seal is known for releasing exclusive, carefully selected single cask bottlings from some of Scotland's most celebrated distilleries, including Caol Ila, Ardbeg, Port Ellen, and Glen Garioch, among others. The releases are characterised by their rarity and meticulous cask selection, often presented at cask strength with limited bottle counts. Beyond Scotch whisky, Silver Seal has also ventured into rum, bottling expressions from legendary Caribbean distilleries such as Caroni. This breadth of portfolio reflects the company's deep passion for exceptional aged spirits from around the world. Silver Seal operates in close collaboration with Whisky Antique, and the two entities occasionally release joint bottlings.
