Ross & Squibb Distillery has deep roots in American whiskey history, tracing its origins to 1847 when George Ross founded the Rossville Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. A second distillery on the same campus, W.P. Squibb & Co., later joined the site, and together these two historic operations form the foundation of what is now known as Ross & Squibb. The distillery was purchased by Seagram in 1933 and has since passed through several hands, operating under names such as LDI and MGP before being rebranded as Ross & Squibb by Luxco, which was acquired by MGP Ingredients in April 2021. Today, Ross & Squibb is one of Indiana's most storied distilleries, producing a portfolio of spirits that celebrates its long heritage. The distillery is particularly known for its signature mash bills, including rye expressions that date back to its founding in the mid-19th century. Its output spans a wide range of American whiskey styles, with brands that reflect both its historical legacy and modern craft approach. The name itself pays homage to the two founding figures — George Ross and the Squibb family — whose contributions shaped the site's remarkable history.
