Lochlomond

Loch Lomond Distillery has its roots in the Scottish Highlands, with historical records pointing to an original distillery in Tarbet dating back to 1814, registered under the name 'Lochlomond' Distillery by 1817. The modern chapter of the distillery, however, began in 1965/1966 when it was established by Littlemill Distillery Co Ltd as part of a joint partnership with Barton Brands, a Chicago-based company. After a period of closure in 1984, the distillery was revived in 1987, eventually growing into one of Scotland's most versatile and productive whisky operations. Loch Lomond is renowned for its remarkable flexibility in production, operating both pot stills and Coffey stills on the same site — a rare combination that allows the distillery to craft an unusually wide range of whisky styles, from rich single malts to lighter grain whiskies. With a capacity of up to 5,000,000 litres, including 3,500,000 litres from the Coffey still alone, the distillery produces expressions under several labels, including the well-known Inchmurrin single malt. Following its acquisition by Hillhouse Capital, the distillery has continued to expand its portfolio and has released prestigious limited editions, including a celebrated 50-year-old expression.
