Loch Lomond
/loch LOM-end/
Highland, Scotland · Founded in 1964
Loch Lomond is a Scottish whisky distillery with roots that stretch back to 1772, when the Littlemill Distillery — considered Scotland's oldest licensed distillery — was established. The present-day distillery was founded in 1964 near the banks of the famous loch in the Southern Highlands, and was originally set up by Duncan Thomas and American company Barton Brands. In 1994, Glen Scotia added Loch Lomond to its portfolio, and the distillery has since grown into one of Scotland's most forward-thinking whisky producers. What sets Loch Lomond apart is its remarkable versatility. The distillery produces an unusually wide range of Scotch whisky styles under one roof, including single malt, grain whisky, and blended Scotch. This flexibility is made possible by a unique combination of pot stills and column stills, allowing the distillers to craft spirits with vastly different character profiles. The Loch Lomond Single Malt range is the flagship offering, celebrated for its approachable yet complex style. Today, Loch Lomond Group distributes its whiskies to over 120 markets worldwide, cementing its reputation as both a heritage brand and an innovative force in the Scotch whisky industry.
