Kyrö Distillery Company was born in a Finnish sauna — the most fitting place imaginable for five friends to dream up a rye whisky distillery. Founded in Finland, the distillery began production in 2014 after various twists and turns in its early development. What started as a bold and unconventional idea quickly gained momentum, with Kyrö establishing itself as one of the most exciting and distinctive craft distilleries to emerge from the Nordic region in recent years. Rye is the beating heart of everything Kyrö produces. All of their spirits are made with 100% rye, setting them apart from most other distilleries in the world. Their rye-based gin took off in 2015, followed by the release of their first whisky expressions, earning the brand widespread recognition and award-winning acclaim. The portfolio has since expanded to include innovative releases such as Kyrö Dairy Cream, a cream liqueur made with local Finnish cream and rye whisky — a product that began as an in-house joke before becoming a fan favourite. Kyrö's branding, developed in close collaboration with creative partner Werklig from day one, is as bold and characterful as their spirits. The distillery has successfully introduced Finnish rye culture to markets across the UK, the United States, Germany, and beyond, proudly flying the flag for Finnish craft distilling on the world stage.
