Kilkerran is the single malt Scotch whisky produced at Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, one of Scotland's smallest and most storied whisky regions. The name Kilkerran is derived from the Gaelic 'Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain', the name of the original settlement where Saint Kerran once had his home. The brand operates under the Kilkerran name rather than Glengyle because the trademark for the Glengyle name was already held by another party when the distillery was sold in 2000. The first official release came in 2014, following years of experimental and limited 'Work in Progress' bottlings that built considerable anticipation among whisky enthusiasts. Kilkerran's portfolio is defined by its Campbeltown character — maritime, lightly peated and complex. The flagship Kilkerran 12 Year Old is aged in a combination of 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks, delivering a balanced and approachable expression. For those seeking more intensity, the Heavily Peated range offers a bolder, smokier side of the distillery. All whisky's are vatted on site and bottled at the Springbank Bottling Line in the former Longrow Distillery Dunnage Warehouse, reflecting the close-knit nature of Campbeltown's whisky community.
