Records indicate that Inchfad island was home to large-scale illicit distillation as far back as the 17th century, until a legal distillery was eventually established there. Today, the name lives on as one of several single malt expressions produced at Loch Lomond Distillery, alongside other island-inspired labels such as Inchmurrin, Inchmoan, Old Rosdhu, Croftengea, and Craiglodge. Inchfad is particularly distinguished by its peated character. The expression has been released in unpeated, lightly peated, and heavily peated variants, making it a versatile and intriguing addition to the Loch Lomond portfolio. Independent bottlers such as Single Cask Nation and Claxton's have also released limited editions of Inchfad, including aged expressions finished in casks such as Oloroso sherry.
