InchDairnie Distillery was founded in 2015 by Ian Palmer and is located in Fife, Scotland — a region historically significant to Scotch whisky but largely overlooked in modern times. Named after the Gaelic phrase meaning 'hidden land close to the water,' the distillery was built with a clear ambition: to push the boundaries of flavour by combining traditional whisky-making with innovative new technologies. In 2025, InchDairnie Distillery merged with MacDuff International Scotch Whisky Ltd to form a new, larger entity called InchDairnie Whisky Limited. The distillery has carved out a distinctive identity through an experimental and forward-thinking approach. Its portfolio includes RyeLaw, one of Scotland's rare rye-style whiskies, launched in 2023 as InchDairnie's first whisky brand, and KinGlassie, a peated single malt. Through the merger with MacDuff International, InchDairnie Whisky Limited now also represents well-known brands such as Islay Mist, Lauder's, and Waterproof. Sustainability is also central to the distillery's ethos — InchDairnie has committed to restoring more peat than it uses in producing KinGlassie, supported by a multi-year cover crop trial with Balgonie Estates.
