Goalong is a pioneering Chinese whisky brand founded by Alan Gao in 2011, with the parent company Hunan Goalong Liquor Co. Ltd. established the following year. Based in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province in southern China, the distillery began operations in 2013. The distillery fired its first whisky stills in 2016, producing what would become known as 'Laboratory The 1st', even before the current distillery was fully established.
