Highland, Scotland · Founded in 1832
Glen Scotia is one of Scotland's oldest and smallest distilleries, founded in 1832 in Campbeltown under the name Scotia Distillery by Stewart, Galbraith & Co. Located in what was once considered the whisky capital of the world, the distillery has endured a turbulent history, nearly becoming a ghost distillery at several points, yet it has persevered to become one of Campbeltown's most celebrated survivors. Today, it stands as one of only three remaining distilleries in a region that once boasted dozens. Glen Scotia is widely regarded as an undiscovered gem of Scotch whisky, producing iconic single malts that reflect the distinctive Campbeltown style — known for its briny, coastal character balanced with rich, complex flavours. The distillery plays a central role in Campbeltown's ongoing renaissance, championing the town's rich whisky heritage while pushing the craft forward under the guidance of Master Distiller Iain McAllister. Its portfolio ranges from accessible expressions to prestigious aged releases. Glen Scotia's reputation has grown significantly in recent years, with its 25 Year Old expression earning acclaim as one of the finest whiskies in the world. The distillery has been recognised as Distillery of the Year, cementing its place at the forefront of Scottish whisky. In 2025, Glen Scotia also expanded its reach with new U.S. distribution, bringing its rare Campbeltown single malts to a wider global audience.
