Speyside, Scotland · Founded in 1897
Glen Moray is a Speyside single malt distillery located in Elgin, Scotland, established in 1897 at the tail end of the late 19th-century whisky boom, originally under the name Glen Moray Glenlivet Distillery Company. For much of the 20th century, Glen Moray operated as a sister distillery to Glenmorangie, earning a reputation as the more accessible and affordable of the two. Today, it is part of the French spirits group La Martiniquaise, alongside brands such as Label 5, Sir Edward's, and Cutty Sark. Glen Moray is crafted in traditional pot stills using only water and malted barley, staying true to the classic Speyside style. The distillery is run by a small, dedicated team whose skills have been passed down over generations. In recent years, Glen Moray has diversified its portfolio considerably, offering a wide range of expressions that appeal to both newcomers and seasoned whisky enthusiasts alike. The range includes various cask finishes and aged expressions, showcasing both tradition and a spirit of innovation. Often referred to as the 'Emerald of Elgin', Glen Moray has built a loyal following thanks to its approachable character, quality craftsmanship, and excellent value for money. With over 125 years of distilling history, it remains a respected and celebrated name in the world of Scotch whisky.
