The Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 2014 in Hillington, on the outskirts of Glasgow. Its name pays homage to the original Glasgow Distillery, also known as Dundashill, which was established in 1770 and closed in 1902. At its peak, Glasgow was home to more than 30 working distillery sites, making it a significant hub of Scotch whisky production. The modern Glasgow Distillery set out to revive that proud tradition and put the River City back on the whisky map. The distillery's flagship product is the Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky, a range that celebrates the year the original distillery was founded.
