Glann Ar Mor is a single malt whisky produced by Celtic Whisky Distillerie, founded in 1997 by Martine and Jean Donnay in Brittany, France — originally under the name Celtic Whisky Company. Drawing on Brittany's rich Celtic heritage and its rugged Atlantic coastline, the distillery has become one of France's most distinctive whisky producers, crafting spirits that reflect the maritime character of their seaside location. The distillery produces two core single malts: Glann Ar Mor, an unpeated expression made using direct-fired pot stills and naturally coloured, and Kornog, its peated counterpart. Both whisky's are crafted to reflect the terroir of the Breton coast, offering maritime influence without relying on heavy smoke. Together with Gwalarn, a premium Celtic blend, these expressions form a portfolio that bridges French craftsmanship with Celtic whisky tradition — a nod to the historic Auld Alliance between France and Scotland. Jean Donnay's ambitions have extended beyond Brittany: planning permission was granted in 2014 for a distillery at Gartbreck Farm on Islay, Scotland, demonstrating the international reach and reputation of the Glann Ar Mor project.
