Drexler Arrach is a small craft distillery nestled in the Bavarian Forest (Bayerischer Wald) region of Germany. Originally celebrated for its traditional Bärwurz, Blutwurz, and herbal liqueurs — spirits deeply rooted in Bavarian folk tradition — the distillery expanded its repertoire in 2007 when it began producing whisky by hand in small batches. With an annual production of around 4,000 litres, Drexler Arrach remains a true artisan operation, deeply connected to its regional heritage. The flagship expression is the "Bayerwoid" Single Malt Whisky, crafted from 100% malted barley using the classic raw and fine distillation method (Roh- und Feinbrandverfahren), a traditional double-distillation process common in German schnapps production. This approach gives Drexler's whisky a distinctive character that reflects both its Bavarian roots and the craftsmanship of its makers. The distillery also produces a Single Malt Whisky Liqueur at 40% ABV, adding a versatile, sweeter dimension to its small but carefully curated portfolio.
