Cotswolds Distillery was founded in 2014 by Daniel Szor, a former New York hedge fund manager who traded the world of finance for the rolling hills of the English countryside. Located in Shipston-on-Stour, the distillery is nestled in one of England's most picturesque regions and stands as one of the most established names in English whisky. Szor's vision was simple yet ambitious: to produce outstanding natural spirits rooted in a sense of place, drawing on the beauty and character of the Cotswolds landscape. Described as a flavour-first distillery, everything Cotswolds produces begins and ends with taste. Their flagship expression, the Signature Single Malt, holds the distinction of being the first whisky ever made in the Cotswolds, partly matured in STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-wine casks, lending it a rich and distinctive character. The portfolio reflects the distillery's commitment to craftsmanship and regional identity, with each release designed to best represent the flavour of the place. Cotswolds has earned plenty of awards and considerable recognition from critics and industry publications alike, cementing its reputation as a pioneer of English whisky. A notable highlight includes a collaboration with Highgrove Estate, producing the Evergreen single malt using barley sourced from King Charles III's farm β a remarkable testament to the distillery's ambition and its deep connection to its surroundings.
