Copper Dog is a Blended Malt Scotch Whisky born from the spirit of Speyside. The idea for the brand originated at the Craigellachie Hotel, a historic establishment built in 1893 nestled in the heart of Speyside whisky country. The whisky was founded by bar and nightclub entrepreneur Piers Adam, who drew inspiration from a chance encounter with a vintage bartending tool called a 'copper dog' β a metal tube once used by distillery workers to secretly smuggle whisky home from the distillery. Famous illustrator Hugo Guinness brought the brand to life visually, designing the distinctive Copper Dog emblems. The brand is bottled by Diageo, a minority owner. Copper Dog is a combination of eight Speyside single malts, crafted to capture everything that makes the region celebrated. The result is a deliciously fruity whisky with a hint of sweetness β approachable, characterful, and deeply rooted in Speyside tradition. Its playful personality and cheeky heritage make it stand out on the shelf, appealing to both seasoned whisky drinkers and those just beginning to explore the world of Scotch.
