Cameronbridge Distillery, established in 1824 by John Haig near the village of Windygates in Fife, Scotland, is one of the oldest and most significant grain whisky distilleries in the country. John Haig came from a family with a long and distinguished history in distilling, and the distillery he founded would go on to play a central role in Scotch whisky production for two centuries. Cameronbridge has a direct historical connection with Haig whisky, one of the oldest Scotch whisky brands in existence. Today, Cameronbridge operates as the sole wholly-owned grain whisky plant of Diageo, following the closure of Port Dundas distillery. The distillery expanded significantly between 1989 and 2000, cementing its position as one of the largest grain whisky distilleries in Scotland. It produces single grain Scotch whisky under the Cameronbridge name, characterised by the lighter, smoother style typical of column-distilled grain whisky. From 1998 onwards, the site also began hosting the production of Gordon's and Tanqueray Gin, as well as Smirnoff Vodka, making it a cornerstone of Diageo's spirits production in Scotland.
