The Busker is an Irish whiskey brand produced at the Royal Oak Distillery in County Carlow, Ireland. Launched around 2020, it entered the market as a self-described disruptor in the Irish whiskey category, aiming to challenge established names with a fresh and ambitious approach. The brand is owned by Illva Saronno Holding S.p.A., the Italian group also known for Disaronno, which has used The Busker as a platform to expand its spirits portfolio into the whiskey world. What sets The Busker apart is its comprehensive portfolio covering all four traditional styles of Irish whiskey — Single Grain, Single Malt, Single Pot Still, and Blended — all produced under one roof at the Royal Oak Distillery. This is a rare achievement in Irish whiskey. The Busker Blend, known as "Triple Cask Triple Smooth," combines single grain with a high proportion of single malt and single pot still whiskeys, matured and finished in three different cask types. A Small Batch expression bottled at 46.3% has also been noted by critics. The brand made a strong impression early on when its Triple Cask Triple Smooth expression outperformed established competitors — including Jameson and Proper Twelve — in an independent blind tasting panel, earning the title of best Irish whiskey blend in its price category.
