Blair Athol is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, founded in 1798 by John Stewart and Robert Robertson near the picturesque town of Pitlochry in Perthshire. Originally established under the name 'Aldour', the distillery adopted its current name in 1825 following significant expansion work. Only around 1% of its production is bottled under the Blair Athol label, making official releases relatively rare.
