Arran Single Malt Scotch Whisky is produced at the Lochranza Distillery, nestled in the foothills of the village of Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, one of the most scenic locations in all of Scotland. The distillery was built in 1994, and the first spirit ran from the stills on 29th June 1995, making it the first legal distillery on the island in over 150 years. It was founded by Harold Currie and is owned by Isle of Arran Distillers Limited. Only traditional methods of production are used, reflecting a deep commitment to craft and heritage. Arran's core range is celebrated for its fruity sweetness, cereals, and spices, all with a distinctly fresh island character. The portfolio includes expressions such as the classic 10 Years Old and the 18 Years Old, alongside the official Robert Burns whiskies, endorsed by the World Burns Federation. Younger editions are particularly vibrant, showcasing the distillery's lively and approachable house style. A notable recent project is the Arran Barley Single Malt, a 10-year endeavour that highlights the distillery's dedication to innovation rooted in local identity. Whether in its core expressions or special releases, Arran consistently earns praise for quality and character.
