Arran-Lochranza
Islands, Scotland · Founded in 1995
The Isle of Arran's Lochranza Distillery was established in the village of Lochranza in 1994, with the first spirit running from the stills shortly after. Located on the scenic Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland, the distillery marked a significant moment in Scottish whisky history as one of the first new island distilleries to open in decades. Over the past 30 years, Lochranza has grown from a fledgling operation into a respected independent producer, recently marking its 30th anniversary of independent whisky production. The distillery produces a diverse portfolio of single malt whiskies that reflect the island's unique terroir and character. Among its expressions, the Lochranza Reserve bottling offers an accessible entry point, while the distillery also explores a wide range of cask finishes, including Port, Sauternes, and wine casks, as well as quarter cask expressions such as The Bothy. More recently, Arran launched the Signature Series, with the first edition, Remnant Renegade, bottled at 46% ABV. The distillery has also expanded to the island's south with the Lagg Distillery, broadening the Arran whisky family further.
