Armorik

Armorik is the flagship single malt whisky brand of Distillerie Warenghem, located in Lannion, Brittany, in the northwest of France. The distillery itself was established in 1900, making it one of France's oldest spirit producers. Whisky production under the Armorik name began in 1987, and in 1998, Warenghem made history by releasing the very first French single malt whisky ever brought to market. Notably, Armorik was also the first and only distillery to produce double-distilled whisky in France, drawing a strong connection to Scottish tradition — a link the Wall Street Journal once described as making Armorik the most Scotch-like of all French whiskies. Armorik produces a range of Breton single malt whisky's that reflect both Celtic heritage and French terroir. The lineup includes expressions such as the Classic, which combines whisky's matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks, as well as peated and limited-edition releases. In 2015, the designation "Whisky Breton" became an officially recognised term, cementing Brittany's identity as a legitimate whisky-producing region. Today, Armorik remains the most renowned French single malt producer, with international distribution reaching markets including the United States and Norway.
