Adelphi
Scotland · Founded in 1826
Adelphi's story begins in 1826 with the founding of the Loch Katrine Adelphi Distillery, built in the Gorbals district of Glasgow. It grew to become one of the largest distilleries of its era, operating until 1932. Decades later, the name was revived when Jamie Walker — great-grandson of original owner Archibald Walker — relaunched Adelphi in 1993 as an independent bottler, driven by a passion for exploring the world of malt whisky. Since its revival, Adelphi has built a strong reputation by sourcing rare and unique single casks from distilleries across Scotland, offering expressions that reflect genuine character and provenance. The portfolio spans a wide range of styles, from delicate Speyside releases to more robust Highland and Island whiskies, with each bottling selected for its individuality and quality. Adelphi also owns the Ardnamurchan Distillery, adding an in-house distilling dimension to their independent bottling heritage. Today, Adelphi is recognised as one of Scotland's most respected independent bottlers, having developed its brand internationally through a commitment to transparency, craftsmanship, and the art of cask selection. Their Private Stock blended Scotch and limited single cask releases continue to attract enthusiasts around the world.
