Aber Falls Distillery is the first whisky distillery in North Wales for over 100 years, located in Abergwyngregyn, Gwynedd, nestled between the foothills of Snowdonia and the banks of the Menai Strait. Founded in 2017 by James Wright, who spotted an opportunity to revive whisky distilling in the region, Aber Falls has quickly established itself as one of only four distilleries operating in Wales today. Production began in 2017, with the distillery releasing its first single malt whisky in 2021. Aber Falls employs triple distillation in its process and has already filled over 9,000 casks since launching. The distillery is also notable for pioneering Welsh rye whisky, distilling Wales' first rye expression in 2019. Beyond whisky, Aber Falls offers a premium portfolio of award-winning gins and liqueurs, all crafted using sustainably sourced local ingredients — reflecting the distillery's strong commitment to its North Welsh roots and environment.
